Front Subframe Bushes

Featured Replies

Looking to get a Really decent set of Front Subframe bushes, anyone got any worth while sujestions

Got quoted £47 for tt bushes as i heard they'll fit

is that each or is that for all 4 bushs 2 upper and 2 lower

i have the powerflex ones, they are good but they will vibrate the car a bit more once fitted.you may aswell do the lower arm bushes at the same time as they have to come off the subframe anyway.dont forget to threadlock the bolts upon refitting too. halfords do a good one in a tube, like a pritt stick!

If that is genuine 2 piece OEM bushes then great price, but I doubt they will be as they are over £100 the set.

Chances are they are the std VRS , VW Golf 1 piece bush that needs pressing in.

You have powerflex subframe bushes, Are you sure you don't mean powerflex wishbone bushes?

Also don't need to threadlock any bolts on subframe and wishbone, they are stretch bolts and no need.

Nah mate i asked when i was in picking up a part for my mates car for the tt ones he said at first it as a audi only part then managed to get them up on his system

powerflex don't make a subframe bush, only different type are the 2 piece audi ones from the roadster that i had, and bowders has.

i replaced the stretch bolts when i did mine. you probably dont need to until the 2nd or 3rd time of taking them out in the real world but its just a piece of mind thing. i started a rebuild on my car in october last year and did'nt want it to fall to bits charlie chaplin style for a bit of threadlock and £35 worth of bolts!! i have the full under car powerflex set, wishbones, farb, rear beam etc? NOT subframe mounts,i am a doosh, they're new oem atm. i did look into some solid brass (i think) ones i saw in pvw a few months ago tho, they may be worth a go!

one thing i did notice is they make the headlights shake a bit more. fine on a short trip, not so good on my 550 mile trip up to banff to see my folks, esp when it gets dark!!!

Hmm yeah reusing Stretch bolts......

I never do that, as I am a fussy git and replace new each time. Plus being stretch bolts I don't risk it as they would of already been stretched prior to reusing them.

All my bushes have also been replaced with Superpro ones and the cast wishbones also have offset super pro castor bushes in them which are top notch. Not sure about the solid brass subframe bushes, probably shake car to bits...

also if you are changing the bolts as they are stretch ones:

Rear bolt – N90752802 X 2
