new octy :)

Featured Replies

hey all,

after my utter nightmare with my leon tdi se.. decided to sell it spares and repairs and go back to having a real car :) just picked up an octy 'elegance' on a 52 plate with 114 miles& full service history..

the guy selling it said 'the temp gauge did a weird thing the other day, dropped down and came back up' so after plugging in the scan tool to check, decided that swapping the temp sender would be a good idea ;) also seems to have logged a boost fault at some point- so im thinking sticky vanes/ mr muscle soon.. although there seemed to be no limp mode at all on the 200 mile drive home?..

just disconnected and plugged the egr.. although im gonna try and keep this one standard and not mess about with it.. lol (famous last words..)

might swap over my polybushed leon front suspension (before i sell her) and the new disks and pads that i only just fitted ;)

Nightmare? They're the same car! :giggle:

Congrats on your new purchase. Any other parts off your Leon you'll be passing on? Pictures wouldn't go amiss either. :D

nah- the build quality seems better on the octy, plus its a more comfortable drive.. mechanically they're identical..but thats how i like things ;)

It does definitely have better build quality! Looked at a few Leons and was not impressed...

Better the devil you know with the mechanical side! Went from naturally aspirated petrol to a turbo diesel and I'm still learning a lot... easier to work on though...
