1.9tdi starting problem

Featured Replies

Serviced my Octavia last week, nothing unusual, did all the filters including the fuel one (I do the fuel filter every 2nd service), no problems at all until a couple of days ago when the car took a lot of churning before it caught and it did it again today. Seems to be completely random, I can't repeat it so quite difficult to pin down.I thought maybe air in the fuel system from changing the fuel filter but surely it wouldn't take over a week to start causing problems? I have replaced the fuel filter probably 10-12 times over the life of the car and have never had a problem. Coincidence? Any ideas anyone??

whats your temperature gauge reading like? Is it sporadic? If so it may be coolant temp sensor

also mine used to churn alot from cold start in morning, but was fine for the rest of the day, turned out to be a tired battery, you cant tell as turn over seems fast enough, but its just not quite enough. Stuck on an 85 ah battery and less than a turn starts her
