Silver Leaf Colour?

Featured Replies

My wife and me are awaiting delivery of a Silver Leaf Elegance 60bhp.....hopefully before end of month  The Silver Leaf has been ordered sight unseen. I wonder which of these is most accurate from anyone who has one or has seen the actual car in this colour?

More nearer the LH picture in your post.

A very difficult colour to show in picures I'm afraid but below is our attempt. It was taken at a dealer who said come take a look if you want to see the actual colour.

We have ordered the same colour Silver Leaf metallic. Your RH picture is from the online brochure and to be honest is nowhere near the colour we viewed in the flesh. Pic below taken with only a phone camera I'm afraid.

Oh and BTW it looks like a pearlescent type finish to the paint (if that's the correct wording for the effect) as when we walked around the car it seemed to changed colour with different light variations. We liked it very much and thought a good choice.

Thanks MickA. Well that's good to know. I prefer the LH one myself and it was on that look I chose the colour. Iv'e seen what I view to be pearlescent in some other cars though and to be honest I hope it is not what I have in mind. What I am after is a metallic look, with the 'brilliant' taken out of the silver. I drive a Nissan Tiida at the moment and that is metallic silver, but with some grey in it and it's nicer than the 'pure' metallic silver version in my opinion.

I'm encouraged that you went ahead after seeing it and it looks like we are expecting (hoping?) for delivery at around the same time. I wanted the 75bhp engine, but it would have been special order, and delivery would possible have been 8 weeks/uncertain. The car we have chosen was in the colour and upholstery trim (Nano Titanblack) which we requested and was already 'scheduled' for production at the factory. The dealer said that once a particular car is allocated to a customer it speeds the unit up in production.

I had driven an Ambition 60bhp and was very impressed with it. Zippy acceleration through the gears, and lovely note from the engine. Made me feel like a kid with a performance engine :giggle: Took it on to the motorway for a short run and found it to be well within itself at 100kmh (62mph). A little more wind and road/engine noise at 120kmh (74.5mph) legal limit. Revs were still low though at the latter speed (in fifth). I was surprised generally how low revving the little engine was in the various gears. It was slow to accelerate though in fifth, but I believe that it benefits from changing down. There was some wind on the day and I could feel some effect of the gusts, but it did not deflect the car in any worrisome way, which otherwise was very planted. My Nissan Tiida is similarly affected by wind, for example, being a relatively high car. The dealer said there would not be much difference in the engines, and looking at the torque, horse power and top speed it is hard to imagine how there would be. I have read that both engines are the same except only for different engine mapping, resulting in peak horse power being achieved at different revs (higher revs in the 75bhp engine), and somewhat lower mpg from it.

:)

Hello, congrats on your new purchase, sure you'll love it!

I have a silver Elegance 60ps too, there's some photos of it in this thread : http://www.briskoda....ech-on-the-way/

See what you think!

Hello to you too :) Yes I keep trawling the net for any new information/reviews of the Citigo. For such a little car it seems to have a strong attraction for grown men and (women?) That purr from the engine is very appealing. Obviously when referring to the acceleration in fifth gear I had in mind what I have been used to driving, a 1.6 Nissan Tiida, perhaps not a fair comparison. Like you said in the thread where you have your photos, I was impressed at the low running revs, quite comparable to the more powerful Tiida.

I'm also amazed at how much technology goes on in the background to the running of the car, and the sophistication of it all.

I liked your pics. Silver was my second choice....i'm taking a bit of a chance with the Silver Leaf. It also looks great in black. I saw it in black and also red at the dealers. I just felt black would be difficult to keep clean, and if unlucky enough to get a scratch they usually shows up more against the whitish undercoats used in most (all?) cars.

We ordered ours without seeing the actual colour Liam. We had to guess like yourself what it will look like.

We only got to see that car in the pic I posted around 4 weeks ago, we have been waiting since the end of June for our car.

We were told it's being built the last week in August, and expect it to be here somewhere near 3rd or 4th week in September, fingers crossed.

Well a call from the dealer today to say the car is here. So after prep and all the other stuff they are going to do, it will be collected next week

So we will be able to show what the Silver Leaf looks like properly.

That's great Mick. You must be delighted. Yes love to see some pics. Dealer has told me ours is to be built this coming week. Depends then on shipping schedules when we will have it. Could take about three weeks, but hopefully might be sooner.

Any chance of putting a copy of pics in the "Citygo Picture Thread"?

I thought if we built up a library of different colours, wheels, stickers etc... it'd help people decide what they want.

I'll put our Silver Leaf 5 door Elegance up as well when we hopefully get it by around end of month.
