Change cabin air filter

Featured Replies

Could someone tell me where the cabin air filter is on an octavia 1.4 tsi 2010? I have a video where it is under the winder screen but thought it was near the glove box, any ideas?

If its anything like my 56 plate it's up behind the glove box, if you remove the kick plate in the footwell you find a plastic cover. Once you open that you have access to the filter.

Should take no more than 5mins to change, I did mine on the rank between jobs lol

Correct, all Octavia II Superb II and Yetis are the same.

Sorry I just tried to do this- I don't have a kick plate, the whole lower half of the dash that side is one piece which includes the glovebox. I will need to remove the glovebox draw to get at the screws for that part of the dash, how do I remove the draw? Just squeeze the edges in? I've tried it gently and wanted to check before using maximum force.

Now i do have faith in you guys, but is this deffinately the right instructions for my model as I cannot see someone doing this in a taxi rank between jobs?

Just check- kick plate= area immediately below glove box?

I would think all octavias are the same, if you look up under the dash from the passenger footwell you should see a black foam cover held on with 2 plastic twist screws like this

Undo them and it will give you access to the plastic cover of the filter

If its nothing like this then I dunno, sorry

They are all the same, always have been.

Right! Found it! My twists were missing ( odd as new car ) I misunderstood the kick plate bit,

Thank you very much! Pic helped hugely.

Kick plate is a poor description really, it's just a piece of thin foam right under the dashboard, above where the passenger's toes would be. There's just a couple of plastic screws holding it up. Remove this and if you get your head right under you'll see the long thin plastic cover that has the pollen/air filter inside.

No dismantling of the glovebox or surrounding area is required.

Be warned that when you remove the existing filter a load of crap (dead leaves, twigs etc) will probably fall out so I'd recommend putting a sheet or something down to catch them.

Edit: nevermind looks like you've sorted it.

No bother, and sorry I couldn't think of what else to call it though lol
