Missing parts?

Featured Replies

Have taken delivery of new Octy Elegance, a dealers ex-demo car. Two questions:

1. Handbook refers to removing the Warning Triangle in the boot to get at the emergency boot release. I have no Warning Triangle in the boot... should I have one?

2. Drivers in dash storage bin (below the headlight control) incorporates a runner and clip mechanism as if a removable tray/bin should be fitted there... does anyone have any such thing, or is it just a VAG shared part that doesn't go in the Octy?

I haven't got a warning triangle, and my in-dash storage area sounds the same as yours. Hope that helps.

My Elegance was delivered without a Warning Triangle or the Cubby Hole insert. The Triangle Holder however works a treat for my RAC warning triangle.

They are most likely options for different countries, most European countries require you to have a warning triangle so I expect it is standard for cars supplied in them.

Yeah, AFAIK most manufacturers cut costs by not including them on cars which are destined for countries where they're not mandatory...

Thanks folks, :thumbup:guess I don't need to go and berate the dealer then!

Still intrigued what goes in the storage thingy...

Annoying about not having a triangle as standard really... It's not like it would cost skoda much in the scheme of things, and it just means its an extra thing for us customers to have to go buy afterwards!

On past cars i've had, this has been for the service book. Not sure about the octy though.

Warning triangle, spare light bulb set and first aid kit are legal requirement in Holland, unfortunately not in the UK so you end up having to pay for it yourself before visiting. Grr. Not like it would have broken the bank now really but still really annoying.

It is just the right size for my TraficMaster Freeway. Also very conveniently placed to make it easy to get it out when I forget to do so before moving off.

How do you rate Trafficmaster Freeway? Do you use it in conjunction with a Satnav navigation system?

Fitted my warning triangle in the holder in the boot, on the next drive all i could hear was a horrible squeeking sound of the triangle case rubbing the boot plastic, It now just lives in the boot!!

Very good indeed. It has got me out of a lot of delays. Unfortuantely it is now no longer available. Trafficmaster are changing over to Smartnav and still selling their screen based products.

I don't have a sat nav system, just a good UK road atlas and by now a prety good knowledge of all the rat runs to avoid the M25 between South Mimms and the A3.

Snap!!!!!! only problem is, if you forget to take it out before moving of, it won't work in there, unlike in my wife's Nissan Micra............ :D

Mine does. I sometimes stow it when I leave the A1(M) southbound at J3. Gives me a ful report when I get to J2. Needs the volume wound up to make it fully audible.
