AUX in question

Featured Replies

My girlfriend has just taken delivery of her new Citigo Elegance and is loving it so far. The only thing we can't seem to work out is how to play music through the AUX socket on the radio. She connects her phone to Bluetooth but wants to play music through her iPod.

I have read the manual and it says to press the MEDIA Button then select the AUX button. When I press MEDIA it only comes up with two options CD or NAV. It could be that I'm missing something obvious but has anyone tried this?

Go into the "menu" on the radio, there's an option to turn Aux on/off.

(This is to allow for quicker cycling thought the Media options if you have no intention of using Aux!)

Hope that helps!

I was confused with this too until my daughter helped me out.

To select Bluetooth or Aux media you press CD then select the option you want from the box that pops up.

I use aux if using satnav on pid when not wanting music on to hear the voice instructions throught the speakers.

Or does anyone know another way around this?

Have you tried pausing the track playing from CD, Bluetooth or Aux in?

That should still allow you to hear the satnav as the volume has not been changed.

Just taking a punt, so I wait to be corrected.

Yep , pause should do it too CFB. :)

Im on a roll :)

I AM on a roll....

Or rather my daughter is :)

Re the satnav volume being too low, my daughter has come to the rescue again.

The volume of the satnav voice can be altered by turning the radio volume knob when the satnav voice is giving directions.

This does not affect the radio volume.

If you alter the volume of the radio it does not affect the volume of the satnav voice.

We haven't tried turning the radio volume right down to zero but theoretically it should work.

I think there is also an option under the navigation settings to set the level of the sat nav voice

I had an annoying problem of trying to adjust the sat nav announcements, could hardly hear them. There is an adjust control within the settings but that was showing the volume to be at it's highest and couldn't be adjusted, even lower. So I reset the unit and it's working great now and adjustable volume as it should be.

Good info here.

Mick, you are right. Even with the volume set to 10 on the PiD it isn't loud enough but if you adjust it as I said above you can set it as loud as you need.

Tried this tonight and it does work.

Set the satnav volume as I said above and you can turn the radio right down to zero to get only the nav voice at the volume you want.

Hi all... can anybody assist me in conecting my IPOD nano to my citigo system.. so far everything is going on VERY well except for the music part!

I really can seem to find the AUX option when i press the MEDIA button on the radio... tried to activate it as well from the Navigon but no success... it might be that i'm getting old with technology?!

Can anybody help/assist?

Try that.

It should work.

Hello,

Probably a dumb question, but can I use the AUX-in port if I do not have the PID installed? I have the port. But when I plug in my phone, and hit the Media button on the radio, the only option that presents itself is CD, and it indicates no CD has been inserted. I cannot find any option related to the AUX-IN.

Thanks,

Jason

As far as I can remember, although you plug the aux lead into the radio, selection of the aux port can only be controlled by the PiD.

I stand to be corrected though.

I'll have a look later. I'm sure I managed to play something from my mobile via the AUX. And I don't have the PID

@jason You'll have to active AUX playing through menu > set > aux and the a number. After that you can choose aux through media > aux. Hope that helps :-)

Just to confirm, you do not need the PID to use the 'Aux in' port. Connect your device, press the 'Media' button on the radio unit and select 'Aux'. If 'Aux' does not appear as an option, then as others have already said, press 'Menu', 'Set', then 'Aux', and select one of the three available input levels. You may need to experiment to find which one matches your device best. If you select the 'Off' setting, then 'Aux' doesn't appear as an option when you press the 'Media' button.

Thanks everyone... worked like a charm. I thought those instructions were only for the PID.

Probably a daft question but why dont you just turn the radio off??

when you first set up the satnav for your journey, turn the stereo on, and then off again, you still get the satnav instructions but nothing else.
