Reversing Sensors

Featured Replies

We are ordering a Citigo Elegance which comes with the PID.

I dont want / need cruise control around town, and it will rarely be used on motorways (we don't have them in Dorset)!

The trip computer part of the Convenience pack is surely part of the PID - or maybe I have mistaken that bit as the test drive car had cruise control (I think).

So I have a couple of questions please.

Does the PID have the consumption stuff even if you don't go for the Convenience pack?

Is there any way to get reversing sensors without the rest of that option pack?

I've twice had mine fitted after purchase by a fitter from Exmouth. Super job both times. About £200 supply and fit at your place. He might go to Dorset but either way it's an option to consider an aftermarket installation.

Well as I read it (the brochure) the Elegance has PID which states

"PID (Portable Infotainment Device) inc Bluetooth, media player, satalite navigation, trip computer"

So yes it does have what I wanted, the same as you, without having to have the convenience pack.

I suppose you could ask the dealer if they could fit reverse sensors separately.

Jml stick on sensors batteries in the boot lol

I would have them factory fitted as it should be covered under manufacturers warranty

Plus if they are fitted after market some goon has to drill a hole and paint them

a) to match

B not too thick as to cause false readings

Not saying all fitters do this but we had a few issues in the past at Vauxhall with people drilling the bumper re enforcer which is illegal

I would not bother going after market, as someone said, it will not be covered by Skoda should they go wrong, and do you really want your bumper taken off and sprayed on a zero mile / brand new car ? Already to have had a paint job before it even turns a wheel..... i certainly would not.

So you have cruise control.... just don't use it, its only an extra small button on the stalk. Ignore it.

The factory fit sensors also display on the pid screen. Aftermarket won't.
