NGK BK7RE vs. PFR6Q?

Featured Replies

Difference?

Changed my plugs on a service today, took out PFR6Q and replaced with BK7RE.

BK7RE came already gapped, is there a difference between the two? PFR6Q had a much larger gap?!

Phil :)

Hi the difference is the BK7RE are copper NGK , a colder plug and normally used for mapped or high BHP running VAG cars. The PFR6Q are a OEM type Platinum replacement. The BK7RE normally need to be gapped correctly and I always check as these are not normally pre gapped correctly to suit the car.

Checked the tapping and it was .7mm, is this correct?

For a mapped car yes . for a std should be .8mm so a guess you are not far off. Doubt you will get running issues
