No power/boost

Featured Replies

I'll start the car and sometimes it will boost fine but be a little smokey then it wont boost at all and smoke bellows out to the point where I cant see behind me then it goes into limp and no power and no smoke.

The traction control light is on and off when it does this and I have replaced the MAF to a used one from a pd115 to check it wasn't that but the problem continues.

The car has a NEW turbo which seems to be screaching when it does boost. Sounds like air squeezing through a tight gap or the impeller blades hitting the housing. It only makes this noise occasionally when it boosts and more when it's cold than hot.

When the car doesn't boost the exhaust tone is noticeably louder.

Wonder if any of you can help as I am sick to death with this car after having new pistons, clutch, flywheel, turbo, cam-belt, water pump and head gasket.

What's next?

Good advert for the sale! :giggle:

Seriously though Ros53y, sorry to hear all the troubles you seem to have had!

I know, think I'm keeping it for a while. Technically there's nothing left to go wrong but clearly not...

Sounds abit like clogged oil line on the turbo just from what i have seen on here before, maybe the system wasnt cleaned 100% and something has clogged it up?

Man you've had some grief, stick with it Ross. Take it back to whoever fitted the turbo and tell them to put it right. It should not be your problem to fix. If they refuse trading standards will wisper in their ear for you. A maf from a pd115? not ideal i would not think.
