NEW YETI 140 4X4 ELEGANCE DSG -WORTH THE LONG WAIT

Featured Replies

Took delivery yesterday of a fully specced Yeti for my Mother and have found this forum incredibly useful over the last year for info ahead of delivery.

Last minute panic yesterday.Couldn't find the jack when checking the car but info was on the forum. Many thanks to the members here.

For info, I ordered the car in June 2011 through autoebid which directed me to a company called Cars and Finance. I was in no rush and went for best price saving well over £4k on a list price of over £28k with pretty much every option box ticked. At the time, most dealers were quoting December for delivery although with pano roof, diesel and dsg I gather I had every single production bottleneck it was possible to have and frankly I thought it would be Jan/Feb. Local dealer to my Mother offered £300 off which I thought was pretty poor so went the internet broker route accepting it would be longer. I was expecting 9 months. 14 was certainly longer than I wanted but in no rush.

There were a couple of delays to delivery but I was far more focussed on price than delivery.

It's now here and my Mother is delighted - well worth the wait for a great car and a great deal.

Now looking forward to contributing here as well as benefiting.

Almost same spec'. Ordered 6 May 2011 from UK Car Discounts. Suddenly they have anounced it will be delivered on Monday (17th September 2012). I have told them we live a bit out of the way and it would be difficult for the delivery driver to return to his departure point. (They won't tell me which dealer will deliver it!) So I'm hoping it will turn up (at my house) on the back of a low loader...

strangley, I don't feel that excited - it has been such a long wait that the novalty of owning a brand new car seems to have warn off, but I'm sure when it does turn up I will be very pleased.

Good point: do you get a jack, if you don't have a spare wheel?

Don't know the answer to that.I'd ordered a spacesaver wheel.

However on mine it is deep down to the right in the boot well. You have to remove a moulding to get to it.

I gave my driver a lift to a ring road roundabout, drove up the road, stopped for 2 minutes to play with the car and by the time I'd returned, he'd gone (hitching with trade plates).

Simple answer, No you don't.
