Had a niggly fault on my 2010 Fabia Sport 1.9tdi where instead of idling at just under 1000rpm it intermittently (and quite frequently) would suddenly decide to idle at 1300rpm instead :( Made the engine sound like it was racing at traffic lights etc .. not nice.

Popped into the dealer today on way home from work, and asked them if they could look at it. To my surprise they said yes, bring it up in 10 minutes. Didn't expect that ..

So, 10 minutes later, the car is in their hands, and I'm sitting in service reception reading magazines and drinking coffee wondering how long will this take / what could be wrong.

Imagine my surprise when the service receptionist strolls up to me 20 minutes later, my keys in his hand. Takes me out to the car, and says all done sir ! Problem sorted, handbrake adjusted too !

He did say that the car had been scanned, and some part replaced under warranty which was causing the erratic idle - so top marks to them.

Anyone know what could have been wrong & what may have been replaced ?

I have this issue (but out of warranty... although I asked them to test for it on a few occassions and they found nothing as per usual).

Anyway... it is the accelerator sticking (not fully going back up). Simple trick is to lift the pedal up with your foot when it revs too much.
