Featured Replies

hi all need help my vrs has started displaying the engine light on all the time with the glowplug light intemitently coming on it also loses power over 3000 rpm it recently had a new exhaugst sensor fitted after fault code g235 was diagnosed ,anyone local to leeds with a fault code reader willing to help ?

When the 'Gas Pressure Sensor' failed did you get the EML (Engine Management Light)?

Was it replaced by a Skoda main dealer?

If so take it back and ask them to take another look, given the fact that the light is back on so soon after they fixed it.

cheers for the reply it was replaced by ivc in leeds its going back tomorrow mot due next friday so i'm running out of time

The EML shouldn't be an MOT fail.

ABS, ESP, airbag, etc. lights are fails.

cheers buddy for that info still need to track the fault down will update when i find out

only the ABS lamp not working or on all the time is a fail, all other lights pass and advise

if you are still driving around with the EML lamp and glow plug flashing the DPF will get blocked up and need replacing as around £1500 to £2000

That used to be the case, but isn't now unfortunately.

Edit: Although they are technically part of the test now, the "bedding in" period has been extended so the extra warning lights are still only an advisory at this stage. Apologies for any confusion!

thank you all for your input i'vehad it on a launch reader and it's been diagnosed as the same fault with an electrical fault guy who checked it used to work for aston martin suggested that the plug connector for the sensor may be faulty i'm going to check it today ta

IIRC G235 is exhaust TEMP sensor 1 (not a pressure sensor). Should be one in the turbo at the back of the engine.

IIRC, G235 is the EGT sensor upstream of the turbo.

Agreed, it's directly in the turbo/manifold at the back.

Sensor 2 is actually the lambda probe

Sensor 3 is in front of the DPF

Sensor 4 is after the DPF
