PID on display?

How many of you leave your PID on display when parked?

I don't. I'm too worried some crack addict will mistake it for a Tom Tom and break in and steal it. :(

To me, thats the only downside to the PID.

I don't leave mine on display, I just wondered who did? Or am I paranoid?

I won't......when I get my car that is :giggle: I will leave the pod in position though to reduce wear and tear on the connections.

I always remove the PID when parked, I thought I would find it a pain, but actually it's so simple to unclip that I don't find it a hassle at all. I leave the stalk in place unless I'm parked somewhere really dodgy, as I think leaving the stalk in advertises the fact that there might be a PID in the glovebox!

It is a pity it does not fit flush with the dash as it does in the Smart and other cars BMW, Mercdes, and Jaguar to name a few.

If it was me i would always take it out and the holder.Carry it with you and leave the glove box lid open,so Mr Scum Bag can see there is nothing to half inch.

Then again do you need to use it every time? Some people use sat navs just to go to the supermarket they go to every week, when they know the way. I only use mine when i do not know the way. As for music etc i prefer the sound of the engine.

We always take just the unit out and put it in its slot in the glove box.

The reason it is fitted each time the car is used is for the bluethooth phone, music, and to maintain a reasonably accurate average MPG figure etc.
