Performance Inlet Manifold Gasket

Featured Replies

Now then folks!

Abit of a debate here!

Performance inlet manifold gaskets, are they worth their weight in gold?

Is anyone on here running one? I ask as when ive been for a drive, the inlet manifold is obviously hot to touch, Now as most know, an engine sucking in hot air isn't a good outcome for performance.

Answers on a postcard please :)!

yes a good one is without a doubt

go for the one from badge 5 not the newsouth one as thats rubarb

piece of cake. Yes easy a saturday morning job. Just have spare std gaskets to fit either side of it. (should come with them though)

phone bill on 01453 827936. he does allsorts of parts that dont make it onto the website!!

This will have to wait now as i have most certainly spent up.....

Will have a look at some logs to check temps once she is running. Never had a prob before.

I got mine from bill badger5 off eBay,have yet to do some logs, but I fitted my front mount intercooler at the same time, got a rolling road day at the end of the month,so will see what its putting out.

By reducing the amount of heat being conducted out of the head, do you not run the risk of increasing in-cylinder temperatures?

The inlet manifold just seems like a very good heat sink for the head.

and not only does it do that if you have a FMIC and are moving your also cooling the engine and its cold air going in ne way? that with a CAI I would think ample?

mmm

actually for the type of driving Ill be doing in mione once finished I dont think it will need it, lol Ill still drive like miss daisy so might save the £60 for something else

we shall see

Just for anyone doubting whether to do this upgrade.  Chris at CC tuning has highly recommended one of these before I take my Octy for a Stage 2 remap.  He is running an Audi S3 with the AUQ engine currently at 408bhp, with one of these phenolic gaskets.

Why is he running a AUQ engine in a S3. The S3 APX or Bam engine is stronger unless he has basically started from scratch with The AUQ and rebuilt it which then don't really matter. Running 408hp I guess he has rebuilt it.[emoji4]
