vRS TSI leaking injectors?

Featured Replies

I've found out my car had a recall on replacing one of the fuel injectors back in December last year... I've recently be having a strange un settled idle at start up when its cold. (I've only had it for 2 weeks mind)

the other symptoms are white smoke/exhaust gas when the car is sitting still.

I phoned my local dealer and they are going to look into it at the beginning of October under my Skoda Approved warranty. Any idea that this could be part of another leaking fuel injector?

I'm not sure how many the TSI has? could it be the other injectors that never got replaced?

I've googled it but not many results other than people with TDI's?

Thanks!

Leon

I had the TSI DSG on an 11 plate, shortly before I sold it she blew an injector, symptoms were all of a sudden loss of power, emissions light, lots of white smoke, and then wouldnt restart, garage put a new injector in and all was good, then shortly after I sold it back to the garage they moved it around the yard and it blew up again, but more serious this time, that was end of June, car is still there and nothing been done, I see you are in the SW, what dealer do you use?

I'll be using Skoda in Helston (Truscotts) The guy was great to speak to when I explained I was a little concerned! Just wondering who else has had an issue. Your story sounds like you got out lucky!?

Funny how the engine blew up though?!

Not so much blown up, more a case of gave very similar symptoms, but just on a more major scale according to the sales guy, was speaking with him today about something else and he said its still nor sorted!!!

I have heard the one in Hleston is an excellent dealer good luck with getting it sorted :-)

Thanks buddy! I hope to get it sorted too! fingers crossed it'll all go smoothly. at least they have sorted a courtesy car for me, and will have it for a day or two!

Lets hope its a decent car as last time I needed a courtesy car they gave me a Roomster, nothing against them but I just felt I should of had the Pope travelling around waving at people in the back!!!

i know they also sell Peugeots there....so a Roomster is going to be better than a 107! My flatmate has a Scout actually, handles pretty nicely in the twists and turns!

Reviving an old thread...!

After the initial dealer looking at my car back in October. They came back with no errors and couldn't see that there was anything wrong. The service was excellent from the Helston group, I just wished they had looked harder and knew that this was coming.

So fast forward 7 months on... guess what? After leaving my car with the dealer for the day checking door seals, and the BT module etc, I finish work to go and collect my car.

I drove off, thinking the car feels slightly strange, I think nothing of it and drove easily out to the round about to head onto the slip road. I was gaining speed but not any faster than the flow of traffic onto the dual carriage way when I could no longer see out of my back window - masses of white smoke was coming out, the lights were flashing, and finally the car went into limp mode, 30mph on a dual carriage way isn't fun!

I contacted the dealer, and they told me to bring it back right away at 5.30 mind! So I turned the car around, and took it back strangely the DSG refused to go into 1st, it was flipping between D and D2 and really shook when it was in the lower revs along with plenty of white smoke. My initial words to the service manager were what have you done to my car!? I leave it with you, it's been fine all this time and the only time I leave it with someone else it blows up! I take that back because it could of happened any time but I was already having a bad day, and now that happens!

Anyway, They said leave it with us, over the w/e and someone will look at it on Tuesday. I get a phone call, and it turns out that its injector number 2 thats failed... so they think? It's going to take about a week before they can book it in the work shop, and I probably wont get my car back until the following week!! I bloody hope it's covered under the approved warranty as I honestly didn't expect this to happen after the dealer telling me back in October everything was ok...!

So now I currently have a Denim Blue Rapid SE fully specced with a 1.6TDI! It's not bad to be honest, handles and grips nicely. Just nothing on my vRS though! :(

Seems the TSI engine suffers with this fault then, least its being sorted though :-)

Yeah, so it seems! They said it's likely to be covered under warranty, I can't see why it wouldn't be?!
