Aircon upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi bought my car fairly recently and I thought it had all the spec options I would want. Satnav, front armrest, spare wheel etc but the aircon is driving me nuts. I'm constantly adjusting it to get a decent temp. I really should have gone for the climate option. Looking at the back of the AC panel it's just multiplugs indicating that everything for the AC in within the panel. I know it's a long shot but is the climate option simply a dfferent but more complex dash panel or are there totally different gubbins behind the dash if you choose the climate option? Would be great if I could buy th climate panel and upgrade.

Cheers

Dom

Apparently its completely different as you get little things like cooled glove box and stuff however you may just be able to swap the panel but no one has tried on here as far as I'm aware.

There is a post on here with a video of the conversion BUT it's a dash out and a new wiring loom and load of other gubbins vent valves etc...Massive job

Ok what about upgrading to climatic over the plain AC. Is that simpler?

think its same kind of job mate, as the vents then get controlled by the unit

I'll be finding out shortly as i am buying a panel , my mums fabia has climatronic and looking at her car apart from the panel externally the cars are the same ie there are no other sensors that i can see, i will be popping both out panels off and having a look in the next few weeks
