MPG dropped

Featured Replies

Evening people!

I've had a few problems with the vRS recently.

Turned out the intercooler inlet had cracked and the pipe kept popping out! The only reason I looked under the bonnet was because the MPG had seemingly dropped, and I can only explain it as "the average MPG screen refreshes more often than it used to"

I've now changed the seal and intercooler and all is well, only problem being is my MPG is still shot, where as on the way to work (motorways) i used to get 55-60mpg im going getting 45-50.

and also as above the MPG average keeps refreshing alot more often than it used to, like 4 x a mile.

I convinced i've cured the boost leak, is there anything else which could be causing this?

Any replies would be much appreciated, thanks.

CTS?

Split boost pipe?

Blocked up EGR?

You have the MPG set in the wrong position, on the end of the wiper stalk you have a rocker switch, it needs clicking DOWNWARDS one notch to switch the average MPG setting ON.
