Is this a good deal?

Featured Replies

Second variable service (35k), plus DSG oil and filter service.

Quoted £343 all in by a main dealer.

I think that's a good deal, but what do others think?

The only thing I would add is that I have a 2.0TDi PD and it is recommended that the cambelt/waterpump/rollers et al are changed at 40k. If the CR is the same, then I would ask them to do that as well. Saves you going back in 5k.

Not sure how old your car is, but if over 3yo, have a look at Skodas Fixed Price Servicing plan.

Recommended by who?

Skoda recommend at least 80,000 miles or four years for a cambelt on the 2.0 PD170.

My bad! You're right.

Apologies for the confusion.

Or better still using Skoda instead of VW...

The VW website covers the gearbox service the OP mentioned whilst the Skoda site doesn't. I agree the Skoda service it cheaper.
