Featured Replies

Im trying to find a turbo from a engine approx 1200cc , smallest i can think of so far is from a Renault 5 gt , anyone know of one under 1400cc?

Cheers

Steve

Charade GTTi, 1.0 Turbo

Smart, 650cc(iirc) Turbo

Metro 1300 turbo

MG Metro turbo was a 1300cc.

The smallest is a 1000cc japanese thing. Daihatsu Charade. Very stealthy and extremely fast...

HTH

2 out of three, not bad ;)

Honda CX650 Turbo

Kawasaki GPZ 750 Turbo

Suzuki XN85

...and I'm sure one of the Suzuki Katana models was aswell.

All from the 1980's though so probably well rare!!

There's my other car, Suzuki Cappuccino, 657cc Turbo.

Oh but you can't have my turbo... I need it!

Cheers,

R.

What engine is this for? Are you specifically looking for a turbo suited to lots of power from a small engine or just a regular one to give a small boost... just been enquiring about this with a mate on MSN who plays with VW turbos and superchargers quite a bit and he recons a K03 from the 150BHP 1.8T would work ok or if you can source one then a turbo from Audi TT (K04) would push out a rather useful amount of power from 1200cc (200bhp+). :)

Its for a 1200 cc Harley Sportster, dont want massive gains looking for 100bhp or there abouts,

Steve

Steve, Holeshot Racing do turbo kits for a lot of Jap engines so may well be able to advise :D But they ain't cheap!

Scratch that, looky here :D :D I want the 500bhp one! :D

600cc or 700cc petrol, or 800cc diesel - not sure if they all use the same turbo though.

Think the Suzuki Cappucino also uses an engine of similar displacement with a turbo.

Not sure if they might be a bit small though...

Daihatsu Copen has 660cc turbo engine, and is the only current turbo K-car I can think of that you'll be able to get in the UK (and therefore will be able to get bits for from a dealer). The Suzuki Alto Lapin and Honda Vamos are also current turbo K-cars, but aren't imported - dealers might be worth a try, however. Your best bet's probably to see if you can find a Suzuki Cappuccino that's breaking for parts, as has already been mentioned...

Daihatsu Diesel Turbo.... 600cc (whats the point?)

What about the Fiat Uno Turbo... that was a rapid piece of rust.

Dunno about the diesel bit (I thought they were all petrol), but it's the law in big cities in Japan that cars can only have a maximum engine capacity of 660cc and maximum output of 60bhp. I'm not sure if it's that you CAN'T drive anything bigger, or whether it's just for tax reasons. Either way, by going down the turbo route, you can achieve the max power (and probably more with a bit of tinkering ;) ) within the capacity limits. To be fair, the 4-cylinder 657cc turbo in the Copen is supposed to be a bit of a gem (if rather noisy!)
