New bump strips on a black magic vRS Estate?

Featured Replies

Mine are looking a bit on the tired side (front and rear bumper mostly, the door ones are still looking quite black), so I'm thinking of replacing them.

Also got the idea that they might look neat in gloss silver (or perhaps experiment with the old ones). Yay, or nay?

It's been mentioned in the past that new ones are a lil shorter and leave a lil gap

Bu99er! :(

I painted mine with Plastidip ;)

I'm lucky that mine are still pretty good, I use Megs tire gel on them once the car is cleaned and it brings them up a treat. Good thinking though Phil. Might go down this route myself if they ever start to go bad.

I recommend Autoglym trim gel (its green, works well and removes white marks left by polish nicely).

Polish!!! I think mine's allergic to polish. Or soap. Or anything remotely designed for cleaning.

Take them off and heat with a heat gun! :)

The heatgun will work, but I found it was only for a short time. I got a rattle can of black paint from my local motor factors, cost me about 4 quid and painted them. As long as it says it's suitable for plastics. Came up like new :)

I recommend Autoglym trim gel (its green, works well and removes white marks left by polish nicely).

+1 this is great stuff and will bring your gray faded plastic up to new.

excellent stuff.
