3G Dongle/3G Router/External 3G Aerial & Cables

Featured Replies

This lot use to be my mum and dads who have a static caravan and used it for that. As a static caravan is basically a metal box which reduces the signal somewhat the external aerial not only increased the signal strength with it's size but it also acts as if you're using the dongle outside as the aerial was attatched to the same pole as their TV aerial, which if course is outside. The site they're on has installed proper wifi now so it's no longer needed.

For Sale:

3G Dongle (Huawei E160G)

3G External Aerial & Pole Mount (Solwise)

3G USB Wireless Router (Solwise 3GWIFIMRW)

Small to Large Antenna Cable Adaptor

5m Cable (From Aerial)

Original Cost: £143 - £65 Delivered

Pick up available from BD20 - Keighley

It's basically an unlocked 3G dongle that plugs directly into the 3G router so it shares your 3G internet connection in the same way a normal BT/Virgin router would, over wifi, so you can have several devices using 1 dongle. Think of it like a MyFi but with an external aerial socket. Very handy if you have something portable (caravan) or no phone line etc.

The aerial is directional and once pointed in the right direction increases the signal strength of your 3G dongle substantially. My parents got 1.0Mb download speeds with the dongle and that went up to 4.5Mb with the aerial.

The dongle is a 'Huawei E160G' with aerial socket. This is completely unlocked (my parents used T-Mobile & 3 over time) and unlike pretty much every new dongle sold in the last few years has the built in connection to be able to connect an external aerial to.
