DRL and side lights?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

silly question time again. I've noticed on my vRS that the sidelights don't appear to do anything. Is this normal? When the switch is set to no lights, the DRLs are bright. When I switch to sidelights, the DRLs dim, but no additional lights come on at the front (obviously rear lights come on). Is this how they should work or is there something wrong?

Thanks

No this is normal. Brighter through daylight for obvious vision realated reasons and dimmer at night because lights are easier seen in the dark, hope this helps

Thanks swany. The DRLs dimming made sense, it was just the fact that no other front lights came on as well, but as long as it's normal, I'm happy! :)

The headlight units in front are standard in all Octavia FL's so normally do have the normal sidelight bulb position and a bulb in it but not actually wired up. Swany is 110% bright in day and they revert to being your sidelights when switched into sidelight position and main beam.
