PDC issue

Featured Replies

I have a slight annoyance with my front and read parking sensors. Rear's are fine, put the car in reverse and hey presto. For the fronts I either have to remember to press the PDC button or come from reverse gear for the system to be active.

Using a VAG or other method, is there a way anyone knows of to

Have the fronts come on all the time or at least automatically under say 20 - 30 mph (I know that's high but they disengage at about 5mph which is too low).

or have the fronts come on automatically if the car is in first gear.

I managed to park so close to a high kurb the other day that by the time I had got the sensors to activate, I was too close the kerb and it did not register and ended up nudging the kurb slightly, no real damage fortunately but I cant rely on them in there present setup.

The reason they are set-up that way is to stop them going off all the time.

Imagine you are crawling along in traffic, they'd be beeping constantly from the car in front and be far more annoying than remembering to press the button.

I agree with that but it would be nice, if I have to use the button, that it could be activated / deactivated at higher speeds.
