vRS DSG MFSW Issue

Featured Replies

Hello there,

I'm after some advice, I recently took delivery of my new vRS DSG (well impressed with the car :)). I have a MFSW fitted as standard and it looks like the one you get with Bluetooth fitted as it has a Phone button (I had the same in my scout), is this right? This means that I can't change the mode of the stereo from the MFSW, which to be honest is dam annoying, can this be retrofitted?

Cheers in advance for any help

do u mean change to cd or media?

Mine is 2 months old and was delivered with the phone button despite not having Bluetooth.

a phone button on the steering wheel does not automatically imply that bluetooth is fitted.

Look for a box under the Drivers seat. Box = Bluetooth

Perhaps you could just switch the position of the relevant wire within the multi-plug behind the airbag to change the function of the button? Either this, or maybe have it re coded.

It may be possible to swap the buttons on the right hand side of the 'wheel, I know you can on the mk6 Golf, but I have never seen them sold separately for the Octy.

The most obvious unasked question is -

Did you specify bluetooth fitted as part of the order ?

If not then then forget about the telephone button you cant configure the function if the bluetooth hasnt been installed

I was suggesting it may be possible to set it up as the radio function button.

Cheers for the info gents, there is no Bluetooth fitted to the car. The phone button does nothing and to be honest is pointless. I was wondering if this could be changed so that I can change either the radio mode or between radio and media.

before i fitted bluetooth into mine, the 'phone' button would simply mute the audio.
