What bolts with new spacers?

Featured Replies

I went all of last winter with a set of alloys (off a Seat Alhambra - sp) and a 5mm spacer. I used the OEM bolts for this.

Now, whilst checking over my winter wheels it occurred to me that with the spacer there may be less bolt thread being used, but given the fact they were torqued to 110Nm I am not sure if its a problem to repeat it this winter.

I don't have the dimensions of the alloys to hand but they were standard 16" alloys, which struggled to fit over the brakes without the spacer.

Can anyone comment?

Cheers guys

I would say you need some bolts 5mm longer .

Hahaha! I was hoping there was a large tolerance/allowance in the bolt which would save me replacing them all/locking bolts.

I bought some new ones several months ago as the current ones are showing their age abit and some signs of over torquing prior to my ownership. Hoping to avoid re-re-placing them <img src='http://www.briskoda.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/emoticon-0105-wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
