octavia 2 vrs, 2006, stream mp3 but no jumbo box - where's the aux cable go?

Featured Replies

as per the long title, i have a poverty spec early mk2 octy vrs (no jumbo box, elec rear windows, 18's etc) fitted with a stream mp3 unit, all the wires seem to be there coming from the back of the unit for there to be a aux input but as there's no jumbo box where would that wire go? does it tail off under the centre console or is it just wrapped up somewhere behind the dash?

I *think* that it has been mentioned about it being in the glove-box, but I cannot swear to that.

thanks for your reply, i've looked in the glovebox but all i can see is what appears to be some sort of temperature control?

Hi did you find a solution?

On the cars without a jumbo box there simply is no cable at all as far as I'm aware.

John

You will need to retrofit an aux in wire to the back of the Stream unit.

I have a stream unit, my aux input is in the centre console

If you have a search though here there is a tutorial type thing somewhere that I used to get aux capability. It involves running 3 wires from the connector on the back of the HU down to an aux socket that can be installed into one of the blanking plates underneath the heater controls. I've done it myself and it looks very neat and works perfectly.

That's correct I put a tutorial on here too. The Stream MP3 has 3 spare slots for Aux in. You have have a Left,Right and Earth. You can run these to a 3.5mm jack socket and looks very OEM when done.
