Columbus, bluetooth and iPhones

Featured Replies

No, not the usual of it wont work :giggle:

Does anyone with all 3 of the above, get an audible tone when you receive a text message whilst the phone is connected to the car via bluetooth?

Yes, and it's a bloody pain!! An incoming email mutes the radio for 5 secs! Using a Parrot Mki9200 (which I cannot recommend!!)

any audio the phone produces is sent via bluetooth, if you want silence then you'll have to disable the new message alert tone on the phone.

I should of made myself a bit clearer, I have the OE factory fitted bluetooth phone.

I actually WANT the audible notification, i am pretty sure the phone is set up fine (I get audible tones when connected to a Bluetooth headset) but nothing when connected to the Columbus, I have set the Columbus for all notifications (not just calls).

I don't get an audible notification on my factory fit Columbus/ Bluetooth with my iPhone phone is set up fine and I get alerts for phone calls but not texts or emails.

I have all 3. I quite often turn the radio off, so don't notice anything come in. I have noticed in the past but not recently. I only tend to Robert Elms between 12 & 3pm, if I'm driving, and not noticed any notifications.

Off topic....

I used to notice the audio pause, but the worst time for that is when playing tunes in church before the service and an email comes in and the sound mutes while it pings  but that is using the 3.5mm plug.

Back on topic....
