MPG on your Fabia

Featured Replies

Firstly, I wondered what other people average from their Fabia. I have a TDI classic. Despite the lack of electric windows and central locking being an occasional drawback, I've been amazed. On a longer motorway run with a good 15 minutes in towns/cities at either end, I can average anything between 63 and 73 MPG. Granted, I tend to drive between 65 and 70 but it does mean I save a fortune as I used to have a Honda Civic.

Secondly, is there anything in the maintenance of the car that can be done to help maintain decent MPG. Being clueless on cars, I'd welcome any advice on what to look out for and keep an eye on to ensure it continues to run so economically.

Thanks!

Thanks Trev

Are the egr and MAF sensor something that would be checked at the garage during an MOT?

No,

You will know when your maf sensor is gone when your mpg starts to fall!

And a clogged EGR normally causes smoke on acceleration
