ECS Tuning jack pad adapter

Featured Replies

Hey guys. I always have a ballache trying to jack my car up and safely get it on stands. Wondered if anybody had used the ECS jack pad adapter with oem jack pads on their vRS and had any problems or if it worked like a dream? I've heard horror stories of it bending the chassis where the pad sits but was looking for model specific advice/experience. Looks like a great product and seems like it would make it much easier to get the car in the air. Thanks for your time! Pete.

Nobody had any experience with oem jacking pads or the ECS adaptor?

OK, didn't know ECS did that before...

Fabia doesn't have the OEM jack pads. Audi TT and maybe Golf etc do/does. Though it's possible to retrofit them by replacing the "dumb" grommets currently under our vehicles.

You need these type of things first.

I've had a look through that golf thread before and know what I'll need but I've heard people saying that its bent their floor pan where the jack pads attach. Apparently they're only really for use with a 4 point lifter not just a trolley jack. Yet ECS have a video on their site showing them lifting a mk5 with a trolley jack. My main problem with using a hockey puck or just a slotted wooden block is that I end up with the car in the air but nowhere simple to put my axle stands. I would like to put them under the jacking points on the sills. I think I'll just get a set of the TT parts and lift it gingerly with someone looking underneath the car as I do it. Ill report back when it's done ;)

You can still just about get the jack under the sill, then put the axle stand under too and lower it. You need to angle the jack properly, considering where the feet of the stand will go.
