coming up to servicing

Featured Replies

couple of questions for the VRs experts out there..... i'm just coming up to first 10k service and the car feels as though it needs it. Seems suddenly slightly down on power when overtaking as if the turbo isn't quite doing what it used to. Also noticed more smoke on start up and when hot tends to not fire up first time, needs asecond go and when it starts I get a good cloud of white smoke (unburnt diesel I assume). Anyone any good ideas what I should ask the dealer????? Can they check turbo boost ? Is it likely to be dirty injectors?, dirty fuel or air filter? Any good ideas appreciated? regards

id say air filter but it doesnt get changed for another 30k

Worth checking the air filter as it's a 5 minute job and you can just hoover off most of the debris :D Not starting first time doesn't sound like the air filter though - with the exception of a dead battery, mine has started every time without fail .... maybe see what the dealer diag equipment picks up in a scan and mention the symptoms to them.... Also worth checking all the hoses to make sure there are no splits and they're all connected.... :)
