New to the forum as just bought my 1st Skoda

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Just bought a 2002 Skoda Octavia vRS in stunning Black Magic paint.

Bought from a private seller in Oxfordshire and really enjoyed the drive back to Cornwall. I sat at a steady 70 (ish) mph and the car returned almost 40mpg. Quiet, calm and collected on the run back and a real pleasure to drive. I paid £1825 for the car with Full Skoda Service History showning only 96000 miles on the clock.

Standard but with uprated and latest VAG ignition coils and H&R sports springs (20mm lower)

I am looking forward to being a member of the forum and would really appreciate any 'top tips' from any other vRS owners.

Neil

Welcome to the 'club'.

Just shows you can still have a great car without breaking the bank. Hope you enjoy your car.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Good to see you are enjoying the car.

Hello Neil, welcome along

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

I have a question for you, I have read in my owners manual that I should use 98RON fuel....is this correct (Last owner used 95RON)

I saw a recent car magazine programme (5th Gear) that did a study of the 95/98RON petrol using a VW Golf GTi and did a Dyno test with both types of fuel with no real world performance improvements?

If I need to use 98RON, can you tell me why?

hello and welcome x
