New Octy 4x4

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

Quite new mwmber just got my new black Octavia 4x4 estate reprogammed by ABT at 193hp. It's quite high so a bit of lowering is a must any suggestions? If i only change the springs will i lose steering feel, or should i also change suspension?

Octavia II or 'old' Octavia - like mine? :)

Old one of course!

The new one is now on sale in the UK. Moving this thread to the Octavia workshop forum. A few members have lowered their 4X4s so you should get some good advice.

If you seriously want to do a good I would recomend KW V3 suspension, its on mine & Im very impressed. V2 is Ok but the 3 offers a lot more adjustment & is slightly superior overall.

Piccies of mine "THANKS AGAIN DENNIS" for hosting them :thumbup::thumbup:

And yes its a 4x4, Saloons are a tadge rare

It can actually go about 15mm lower & still be within KW tolerances but this is definately IMO low enough, its probably Rs level or slightly lower

Thanks Stuart! nice car btw!

I really liked the pic too. I have heard that the spring ratings for the 4x4 are different to the rs.

What was the price overall, is it just 4 springs, did you fit them yourself. Is the saloon same underneath and overall as estate apart from longer length, ooer..

Getting stuff 4 my old octavia is time consuming as its all new stuff to me..

Im interested to know what the car goes like overall compared to standard spec..

Cheers Jay Ivey..

Saloon & Estate 4x4's are the same underneath, Because of the transmission the 4x4 is slightly heavier than the RS so spring ratings, certainly on the rear will be different. KW do a system specifically for the 4x4

I changed the complete suspension to KW variant 3's, from memory they are around

i have stuarts old KW V2's, makes a big improvement i think. handeling is much better now. i have also done a *few* mods performance wise, some that stuart hasn't but am missing some he has  the thing does moce well but me being me am already wanting more :o

mine was dyno'd at 226bhp and 256lbft running on 95 RON fuel with the boost controller not quite on full as the fuel couldn't handle it, once i got some super in it boy did it fly :D

i have done some cheap and dirty runs 0-60 with my bro and a video camera and on a dry day we we're getting around 6secs which is quite good for a plain white estate ;)
