Autumn/Winter sun

Featured Replies

We all know that its not a good idea to wash and polish a car in direct sunlight...but does that still apply at this time of year when its nice and bright but no warmth in the sun?

It's down to the temperature of the panel. I find that the winter sun is fine for cleansing and waxing, but it is more important to keep the layers nice and thin.

You mean for ease of removing them?

If the panel is too hot, the lubricants in an AIO product like SRP or Carlack NSC will dry out instantly, preventing you spreading the product evenly and thinly on the panel. It both gives you a streaky finish and makes it a pain to buff off. With an abrasive polish, the same happens and the polish clumps together causing micro-marring. If you touch the panel and think it's too hot, then best leave if for a dull day.

It sure does. Thank you.

If possible always try to apply products out of direct sunlight but if this is not possible then refine your process to apply the product to a panel at a time and then remove the product off that panel and as always with any product, less is more........:)
