Teves Mk60 Faults - up to what year?

Featured Replies

Is there an age of car that the design of the ESP/ABS was changed so that the Teves Mk60 fault stops being an issue?

Thanks

Steve

I believe its around 07 plate cars. I've had the fault on mine its an late 06 plate.

March '07 and had the fault a year ago.

Was told to expect it to happen again to about 4 years!!

Now that's just teasing. I've a July 07.

On a selfish note, I bloody hope it's '07!

March 07 and my TCS light has just come on.

Was the repair kit available then?

What was the cost to fix?

Thanks

I don't know if the repair kit was available, and I certainly wasn't offered that option.

I was charged £1060 by dear Sparshatts of Fareham.

I thought the repair kit was from a third party, not a dealer. There's another Teves based thread on here in the last few days with a link.

Third party offers a repair of the the whole unit, VAG now makes a kit to rectify the fault.

That doesnt seem correct to me and I wasnt given that information when I asked. Mine was replaced by Skoda.

Surely if you have had to replace your unit the replacement wont sauffer with the same issues?

I am just repeating what I was told. Also, the price I have mentioned is what I paid.

I am sure I discussed this on this site, I will search through my old posts and see what I can find!

If it was replaced like for like then the same fault will exist in the replacement.

If it was replaced like for like then the same fault will exist in the replacement.

But if a part has been replaced with a new part the new part will have superceeded the old parts stock and the fault will have been addressed and therefore wont happen again. That is of course prviding it is an updated part that has been fitted.

Just be aware that they have replaced the faulty unit with the same 'inherently' faulty unit so you will be looking at the same problem in 2-5 years time. There is a 'repair' kit that costs £127 but it is not available to us UK punters yet, not until they have rid of all the full units they have stockpiled.

This is what I was told!!
