Hey,

I've got a problem with my power steering not working so I borrowed a cable and installed VCDS.

So far I have found the error:

01598 - Drive Battery Voltage

07-00 - Signal too Low.

The car has only recently had a new battery.

Secondly which control module do I need to scan for the power steering pump and sensor as I currently have the unregistered version of lite so I have to scan each module seperately.

The load signal wire from the alternator would be the first place I'd look. It's prone to breaking at the connector on the front of the gearbox. Plenty of info on the forum about it.

Scan 01 - engine, 03 - ABS, 09 - central electrics, 17 - dash panel, 19 - gateway and 44 - steering

I reset the error and the code has gone so guessing the old battery. Is there anywhere in VCDS where you can see anything to do with the pump like voltage or the signal at the sensor. I started to look but not found anything yet.

I'm going to hopefully check the cable Sunday depending on the weather.
