Hi guys, can anyone confirm the front suspension arm part code for the Yeti please? Unsure if it has a more specific name but its the main 'r' shaped bit of steel that holds a number of components and bushes in place. I suspect it may be 1K0407153G but I really need some confirmation if at all possible. Thanks in advance.

http://vagcats.info/base/sk/3/237/666/4/5936 gives 1K0 407 151 BC (1K0 407 151 BG) p/n for left control arms and 1K0 407 152 BC (1K0 407 152 BG) - for right. According to the catalogue, these are made from sheet steel. But as far as I know, some earlier Yetis were equipped with cast aluminum control arms.

Yes, I've been led to believe that my car has pressed aluminium components (same as the passat) but later ones swapped to the Golf part which are made of mild steel and obviously slightly heavier. I think I'll be getting under the car to see what part code my one carries as I've seen a number of conflicting 'guesses' now. :-)

However I see that briskycat has got here for you.

Looking at the VAGcats.info link it seems that one of the alternative arms has a couple of dumbell shaped cutouts that should help with identification.
