SuperPro Supaloy Replacement arms...

Featured Replies

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone on here has given these ultra lightweight replacement arms a try? Very interested to hear some feedback if so. I tried a search but nothing came up.

Very keen on a set later on in the cars life (replacing worn bits/out of warranty)

Do a search on YouTube - mkv golf

When I spoke to superpro at autosport show they said that they may be up for a group buy via their retailers... But nothing came of it as they still as far as I'm aware haven't released the adjustable ball joint version (ie like the TT variety)

If you find out any more details left me know as I'm planning to lighten as much as possible the Combi

Rob,

How much are they then? As the link on the website doesn't give prices. Unless I'm not seeing it? (only have Internet on my phone at the moment as lap top broken)

The first price I've had on these equates to around £320 and £100 delivery (from oz) but I've not really got into the costs via a uk distributor yet....

There's a uk distributor, you don't need to import them yourself.

Lee - ref your inport costs, you'd probably be hit for vat once those arrived? Worth checking before you commit.

Regarding uk suppliers, I dug through some old emails today and found this:

"Good Morning Rob,

Thank you for your enquiry ref your Octavia.

I am afraid we do not have the difference in weight available to hand at the moment but being alloy they will be lighter than the cast and pressed steel versions. These will be far better than the TT version due to the fact the bushes are much better quality, they are positioned in a way that they stop lift (Anti lift) and they also come with an adjustable ball joint. This means you can adjust the front camber which is not possible with the standard arms or the TT version. As you can see from the video there is alot less movement in the Super Pro bush, which helps with handling and the car will feel a lot more positive.

The price of a pair of complete arms with adjustable ball joint would be £400 + vat and fitting would be £180 + vat which would also include four wheel laser alignment on our state of the art laser alignment machine.

We are offering free fitting on these arms when purchased with a coilover kit or lowering spring kit.

Hope this helps but if you do have any further questions please do not hesitate in contacting me.

Regards

To be fair to Ben this email dates back over a year ago so I would suggest you contact him for current pricing info.

HTH.

Rob - thanks for the help. Bit of a curveball on this one now as Ive discovered my Yeti already has the VAG aluminium ones fitted from the factory! (Same as Passat possibly?!) Less than a year after Yeti production started they swapped to the more common cast steel version. So im now thinking the benefits of doing this will be smaller than what I was expecting, therefore the money could be saved!

That's a result.

I'd guess they are same as the s3 arms so alloy but non adjustable - either way that's good news.

The Bushes alone are excellent, although I can't say I'd bother with the wishbones unless yours are on the way out.

Mine were cast steel, but in very good condition. Yes it's a small weight saving, but not that much.

Bushes is one thing I'm about to start reading up on. Centre console bush seems to benefit for being replaced by a more solid one from what vie so far read... I just want the ride to become harsh.

The ride isn't in the slightest bit harsh, with superpro bushes all over the wishbone.
