OPS (Optical Parking System) with just rear sensors?

Featured Replies

Looking to retro-fit OPS onto SWMBO's TT (2010 with RNS E)

So far the only info I can find says I need front and rear sensors to get the OPS display up on the head unit:

Has anyone got this display with just the factory fit rear sensors?

If you have do you know the part No. for the Parking Controller? ideally a scan with the long coding would be good also.

The car has factory fit rear sensors and I know the controller will need changing, but to what I am not sure.

TIA

You won't get that picture with just rear sensors fitted. You'll just get the back if the car, but it will be actually facing the same direction as the actual car.

The picture you show is for cars with front & rear sensors.

There are numerous threads in this forum that say 'it can't be done, and one which clearly proves that (with much effort) it can be.

Factors to consider include which sensors you have as well as which controller.

This is off an '09 Octavia Vrs LE with rear PDC/OPS:

Address 10: Park/Steer Assist (J446) Labels: 5J0-919-475.clb

and this is off an '07 Octavia with front & rear PDC / OPS:

I have a scan from a Mk2 Superb with rear PDC / OPS somewhere, so I'll find that later and post that as well.

Now that IS useful Karl

Currently the controller fitted to the car is not suitable for OPS as it will not take the code change, the RNS-E is the newest version and is coded correctly, this is what is fitted:

Part No SW: 8P0 919 475 G HW: 8P0 919 475

Component: PARKHILFE 4K H06 0120 (4K means 4 sensors, so just the rear's)

It is interesting to see that:

Part No SW: 5J0 919 475 A HW: 5J0 919 475 A

Component: PARKHILFE 4K H11 0005

Is OPS compatible, now to see if it is RNS-E & TT compatible

:giggle:

As promised, this is off a Mk2 Superb (MY '09 I think) with rear PDC / OPS factory fitted (should have added that both the above were retro fitted by their owners - me in the case of the '07 Octavia)

Address 10: Park/Steer Assist (J446) Labels: 1Z0-919-475-V1.clb

Hope that adds a little more info for you.

A couple of bits that concern me with the Superb one is there is no revision code and 1Z0 should be a MKII Octavia, the Superb is a 3T0 (my Superb with Park Assist and OPS uses 3T0 919 475 A).

With the retro-titted ones did they have OE sensors fitted already, or was the whole PDC / OPS fitted?

I assume that scan was pre coding as OPS is not coded on it?
