smokey and flatish spot

Featured Replies

hi all,

had a search and can't really find a definitive answer. In the past few weeks I have noticed my 110k 55 fabia vrs has been quite a bit more smoky when putting the foot down in all gears. I had it mapped back in the summer and she is now running 208bhp and all seems well.

Coming home this eve I noticed that in 2nd and 3rd it seems to have a minor flat spot when fully planted until i come off the throttle a touch then she seems to almost come back to life so to speak.

The mpg has dropped a touch but I have put this down to the cooler temps. The smoke used to fade away as the crud from driving conservatively cleared but now its constant. I really dont believe there to be a boost leak as the is no rushing noise like when I had one before.

All is totally fine until like I say I give it the beans. Any ideas peeps, is this the MAF finally saying enough's enough?

208bhp on a remap alone?

Anyway, If it is the maf have you tried using some dielectric silicon compound to the connections on the maf? I read somewhere that petroleum jelly does a similar job (if you happen to have that lying around...).

Just bumping this back to the top as really could do with an answer

Have you tried the suggested if you think it's a maf issue?
