I have read multiple threads on here about lights and have ordered some these H7 Phillips xtreame power.

Just wondering about sidelights and DRL's.

Are the sidelights just 501's?

I think 'standard' i.e. non-HID or HID-look bulbs are divided between the Phillps you have ordered and Osram Night Breakers. I went for the Osrams as Autoexpress have rated them highly.

Cheers I shall get the DRL and sidelight bulbs ordered now then. Already fitted the H7's for headlights last night when I got home from work.

SORRY TO HIJACK....

Having fitted the Phillips Extreme's and angled the lights up a touch (the latter was more of an improvement than changing the bulbs I must say!) I am still VERY disappointed in the high beam.....dipped beam is fine, but the lack of a second H7 for the high beam is crazy!

Does anyone know if the 'Elegance' models bi-halogen lights will fit? as these have twin H7 bulbs and are a far better light.

It's a shame really that Skoda have opted more for style than substance with the Monte & vRS's lights...

Personally don't get why so many people think the lights are so bad on the Monte, obviously no they certainly are not comparable to HID quality, but to be honest I have driven in country lanes, round town, fast A and B roads and the lighting on mine is fine. In fact compared to my old car they are amazing though the headlights on the old 323 were like candles in jam jars.

Only reason I want to change the bulbs is because the colour of the standard bulbs are very yellow in colour and I wanted something with a whiter or blue tinge.
