Rear light cluster loose.

Featured Replies

Whist walking round my 61 saloon superb, I caught very gently the rear light cluster and it came loose. When I say I caught it, it was brushing against it.

So I had a look in the manual and saw that it should be held in place with torx screws. It looks like on mine is some small plastic clips holding the cluster in place. I have checked the other one and that seems to be the same. The clips don't seem to do anything. I can see in the body work the thread for screws.

Is this normal or am I missing the screws and where can I get them from?

take it back to the dealer if you brake something you will have to pay for a new light.

bill

The torx srews are under the plastic plugs, easy to tighten but if under warranty get the dealer to see why the lamps came loose if you break anything they will most likely refuse to do anything.

There are no torx screws in the light cluster. There are only 2 small plastic clips under the plastic caps.

Seems like the clusters may have been replaced but torx not put back in.

<p>Have you had it from new? If not, car may have had rear end shunt with previous owner and they forgot to replace screws with new light clusters. If it was 'approved used' by Skoda then this shouldnt really have been missed.

Only had it a month, got it from Mitchell's Skoda. Think I will be giving them a call today.

Turns out previous owner must have lost the screws when changing the bulbs and boged a fix. Cover caps had been melted to hold them.

Mitchell Skoda have fixed it all up :D

  • 2 weeks later...

I noticed a rattle in the rear of my car a few weeks ago (cars only 7 weeks old) and it is driving me insane. Sounded like parcel shelf area so was going to get dealers to look at it when I was next in their area. However, today I was out cleaning my lights and the right rear cluster is loose but only at the forward edge. The torx screws are there and are tight. I'm thinking this may be what the rattle is!! How is the front end held in place? Think I may have to head to the garage a bit quicker than anticipated!
