Fault code p0144 on Octovia VRS

Featured Replies

Hi

I am new on here.

I brought a 2003 Skoda Octovia VRS 0 and with in a week the engine management warning light came on :(

I managed to get some one I know to plug it in and it came up with a fault code - P0144. After a little googling it appears to be O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 3. This means nothing to me so was wandering if anyone could help! I have looked around the engine bay and it appears the previous owner did a little DIY using electrical black tape around a pipe, I am not sure if this has anything to do with it?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

02 sensor is right near the throttle body at front of the engine, i sprayed one on my friends golf gti with same engine with carb cleaner and it sorted his problems, they become very dirty. May be worth cleaning throttle body too.

Check there isnt any splits under the tape as this will cause issues too

The fault code you list is for the post catalitic convertor lamba sensor being faulty, I would first check the fuse for the heater on this sensor.

Hi

Thanks for responses.

In respect to the throttle body I will give this ago, In respect to the tape I guess it is covering a some form of break in the pipe thus I guess I will need to get it changed. Don't suppose if I upload a photo someone could tell me what it is?!

Where is the fuse box and how do I know which one to look for? As you can see a complete octotiva NEWB!! Sorry!!!
