Been to see my new 75 Elegance (Silver) Green Tech today - just gotta get valeted tomorrow and Supergarded tomorrow and then I can pick it up. It must be the cheapest car I have bought since the early 90's but for some reason I seem to be more excited about this one than any of the others for a long time. No extras to speak of just swapped the alloys (ready for next summer) for steels and winters plus trims. We've had snow already in Dundee so wise move I think. Mine doesn't have the alternator cover but I have already made up a black plastic cover ready to be fitted as regardless of the reasons given I think the cover gives that bit extra protection to the engine and surrounding area on the offside.

Me too about the excitement, and I'm still excited two weeks later. Funny that.

Picked it up this afternoon and went home the very long way round. Everything I was expecting and a whole lot more. Keeping the design intent in mind I think Skoda have done a cracking job. Very impressed with the comfort, the wae of driving and the solid feel. I've done without the entertainment in order to get an earlier delivery but the standard system is absolutely fine for my ears. Love the PID - what a cracking piece of kit. A very happy chappy.

Another happy customer

I dont think Skoda had anything to do with the car, isnt it a pure VW design?

Badge engineering aka BMC in the 60s.....they got slagged off for that!

Our last two cars were a Yeti and a Scirocco bought in the same day. Running the two side by side it was easy to compare the build quality. The Skoda is/was undoubtably better screwed together and better finished. One example - they had identical size and style windscreen wiper blades - however they were from different suppliers. The VW ones were dreadful from day one and were a constant source of complaint on the Scirocco forums. I ordered and fitted the Yeti ones and they were then working as they should do. I have many other examples but I have seen enough to form a preference for Skoda. If they maintain this standard then I can't ever see me buying anything else. The whole experience has been the best we have ever had. Who has my worst experience been with ?? - beyond doubt BMW - I have an old Z3 as a restoration project but I will never buy new from them again - too arrogant and not as good as they think they are. My local Skoda dealer - so friendly, helpful and I always come away feeling that I matter. My wife got a cracking deal on her Yeti - got a £1000 discount that she never asked for + free GAP Insurance on top - that she also never asked for. I got a very good deal on my Citigo and then on top I got a good discount on extras that I ordered, then free mats (carpets) at the last minute. Then when I picked it up I noticed a Supaguard box in the boot. When I queried it they had given me the Supaguard deal for free - worth £300. I don't know if any of you have had the pack recently but these days on top of the paintwork and interior treatments you also get a safety pack well worth having including Fire Extinguisher etc. I wouldn't have ordered it myself but hey getting it offered for free without asking - how can you better a service than that. A very happy customer here.

Sounds like a good deal and dealers are also good.

We had the Autoglym treatment. We would not have had it but it was a heavily discounted extra, glad we had it done.
