Fabia VRs rear bumper

Featured Replies

Hi gang!

I have recently been bumped at the back from another driver at low speed. Luckily he is a mechanic and has bought the genuine bumper and lower VRs valance and got them painted.

Now the query is - Do both parts need to be bonded together? And if they do, how can they be bonded to make a flush finish? As we seen there were clips on the lower valance which went through the holes on the full bumper but when this was clipped together there was a clear 5mm difference which left a deep groove.

I will post pics up later when i get to my own computer!

Thanks - Ian :wall:

Can anyone help with advice on this??

Ian

They do click together, i accidently clicked mine into place when i was sizeing them up and the clips get a very good hold!

Eitherway i glued mine all the way along the edge since it sticks out a little bit on the wheel arch. Once glued i used two clamps and some cloth to hold the edges right down.

Hope this helps :)

As for the gap! I remember when glueing mine on i had trouble with that also!

I solved it by glueing it in a few places where it should be, fitting it to the car and then putting a long piece of wood on a jack, sliding it under the bumper abit and jacking the rear bumper untill it sits flush, left it overnight for the glue to dry. Problem solved.

I've got a little gap on the rear bumper. So literally you should be able to push the two parts together?
