having the dsg gearbox sorted under warranty

Featured Replies

My DSG behaves in the same way as described on this thread, it's a MY 2009 2.0 170. It's taken me nearly 4 months to get the 'lost' second key from the supplying Skoda dealer, god knows how long it will take them to sort out warranty claims - I am building a bit of a list at the moment!

they should be able to plug it in and find out if it is one of the "affected" cars

i would have thought it was sorted by now?

my gearbox is the 6 speed if that helps

when the part is fitted i will update you

when i find out what the SUK notice is called i will let you know

Please help me on this one. My car has same prob as yours and is just out of approved used warranty.

How do I get this issue sorted as you have? Should it have been sorted prior to me getting the car, or when it was serviced by the dealer?

Your help will be appreciated.

I would be most grateful to you if you would do this for many other posters and myself.

I hope you get it fitted bmhill. I recently purchased a car from DM Keith and I was told numerous times an assessor would need to come out to assess my DMF to get it replaced. It seemed to go on forever and I felt fobbed off.

Sent an email to the director explaining I wasn't happy, he emailed the dealer principle and he made it move on. (By authorizing the part and not getting the assessor out)

I don't blame DM Keith but it appears they are very slow when it comes to a claim and who is to pay what etc.

the fault was there on the test drive for me and i agreed with the salesman that it would be sorted if i bought the vehicle

there was a mix up at first as to which department was paying

the issue now is getting the part as it is on back order

yes of course its not a problem

Any updates on the progress ?????

yes

sorry i thought i had replied to this

they did it and straight away i noticed a difference

it is a totaly different drive with the new part fitted

there is no confusion at all at junctions now

even when cold it is 99% better than it was

i say 99% because it tends to hold the gear slightly longer than i would like when its really cold but i believe that is meant to happen

i have not noticed any improvement in mpg although im happy with the fuel economy anyway

it just seems to be smoother overall now and as it should have been anyway

Appreciate you taking the time to reply, thank you.

Most interesting result for me as I think I have the same problem as you had.

I would like to have as much information as possible before I go to my local dealer as I know from past he will try and fob me off.

So could you please give me as much detail as possible, what were the name of parts/software upgrade etc. which were done to your car, and were there any charges associated.

Thanks in anticipation of any further information.

This i the same problem I've recently noticed with mine.

Obviously out of warranty now but wondering if this should have been done prior to me getting it - was it a known problem/did Skoda issue a Technical Service Bulletin for?
