hi folks i have a twin cam 2.0 tdi PD DSG 2006 Octavia and it seems to not want to start properly, sometimes its like the battery is flat or the starter motor is lazy for a second or 2 and then it seems like it doesnt want to start for a second and then jumps into life. i have had issues with the EGR and the ant shudder valve/throttle body and have changed both but it seems to be getting worse. the engine has lag when you press the pedal as if its thinking about things and then it shoots off especially in reverse. there is what seems to be a miss or something else causing a judder when stationary or moving as if the revs are going up and down but the rev counter stays the same these bkd engines according to google do this but it can be 1 of 10 things ranging from the injector/heater loom to blockage in the manifold or even vac pipes etc i am wondering what measuring blocks to log to test from cold start to warm so that may shed some light on things? any help appreciated guys

4 wheel alignment do we need it?
bmhill replied to bmhill's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
the rear tyres were down to the limit and making the "wheel bearing" noise i will be getting 4 wheel done asap so i know its right thanks for the comments guys -
had 4 new tyres on last week or so and decided to get the car tracked but i have been told that the Octavia needs 4 wheel alignment as the rears scrub tyres if not done and they are known for killing rear tyres is this the case? or is it a sales pitch?

anyone know how to reset the DSG 6 speed box?
bmhill replied to bmhill's topic in Diagnostics & VCDS
after changing the oil today everything felt better and although i need to take it on a run to get the oil as thin as possible and then any issues show up i have already tried both ways of doing it as per Google and your posts above Tony and to be honest it does not seem to have made a difference to me as it felt sharper and smoother after the oil had been changed as RRG says below what i am after is best doing via VCDS and then clutch and pump pressure can be optimised. thanks for the help i do appreciate the help this is what i want doing James and i am willing to pay for someone who knows how to do it, i dont think its mega hard for someone who knows what they are doing thanks for the reply i do appreciate all help
