I managed to fit one in the back of my Fabia, though it was folded in half. ;)

Yeah I fitted 2 in at the same time as a set of bunk beds, even got the boot shut :-)

There's a pic of the old one in the back

A single is only 3 foot wide, so should fit easy. Sitting on top of front seat head rests, should get in fine with boot shut too.

Yes, as said - no problem. John's pic above is a perfect example.

"If the cars a rockin', don't come knockin'" ;)

Haha, suppose we should have asked whether it was staying in there permanently :D

Should fit, i had one in my Fabia Estate, but it was going over the top of my head too ; )

Thanks for your replies - no I haven't been thrown out the house and told to live in my car, well not yet anyway!

Just a replacement so off to the dump next week

It'll definitely fit.

Will you be using it as a knocking shop?

We posted at the same time.......the answer to my question it seems is no!

It will fit I managed to get a single mattress plus the base into my VRS.

I got a double in to take to the dump without too much hassle at all - single should be a doddle.

Be a gent and do the decent thing, check the girl into Premier Inn or similar for the night.

It's easier to kidnap people with a transit :bandit:

I moved a full sized single mattress only last week, along with a Fabia hatch boot sized amount of other stuff. It was a perfect fit with just the seat backs folded down. Was thinking of downsizing to a Fabia Estate soon, but the Octavia (even as a hatchback) is just so versatile it has made me think again.
