VCDS and Windows 8

Are these compactable? I am considering an upgrade from Windows 7 to 8...

From the Ross-tech FAQ

1.15 Will VCDS work on Windows 8?

We are not aware of any issues with actually running the software under Windows 8 on machines with x86 architecture CPUs. However, we will not consider Windows 8 a "Supported" environment until it is a fully released product; not a "Beta", not a "Consumer Preview", not a "Release Candidate", not a "Release to Manufacturing", but an actual full release to consumers. Until then, our Installer program will claim that VCDS is not compatible. There is a straightforward work-around for this in Windows itself. Feel free to use it and to report any problems you encounter while running under Windows 8, but please do not contact us to ask what the work-around is; if you can't figure that out on your own, you should not be using an operating system before it has been officially released.

I thought that Windows 8 was fully released on the 26th Of October 2012.

Yes it was, but as Ross-tech haven't released a new installer/version, the same advice still applies.

Now a Metro enabled version of VCDS on a Windows 8 Tablet would be cool.
