xenon on and off

Featured Replies

so I installed bi Xenon H4 55W (!) 6000k, I turn them on, one or both of the bulbs they come on for 0.1 sec and they are off again. Like a switch, as soon as I turn it on, it does a small flash and it remains off. After I do this 6-7 times they eventually come on. After that, no matter how many times I will turn it off and on again and again they will come on right away. Next day... the same drill all over again.

any thoughts?

is it a hid kit or what, picys please as it will help

if its a hid kit, is it bixenon? as the bulbs need to do 2 functions.otherwise dodgy ballasts?

Sounds like they are not getting enough power to start-up properly.

Dodgy igniter, I would say. I had this problem with my OEM Xenons, and the new igniter fixed all... changed the ballast as well though, just in case!

where abouts is the igniter? Or which bit is it? I think I have HID, there is a ballast and everything, is not just the bulbs but the whole thing.

maybe buy a wiring harness with a built in relay to run direct from the battery as it sounds like they are trying to draw too much power from the standard h4 plugs, this is what i've done as before i had the harness they flashed untill full ignited

They're meant to flash when they come on, then they go from dim to bright quite quickly...

Not sure where your igniter is as I'm only familiar with OEM fit, but it should connect to the back of the bulb.

Ballast is probably dead. Try swapping the ballast over with the other side and see if you have the same problem.

I'm assuming this is an eBay HID kit?

it is indeed an ebay kit. There is a cable that draws power directly form the battery. The only thing I might not have done properly is the grounding...if that has to do anything

connect the earths to the wings
